Today is Wednesday, March 12, 2014. We got to the hospital on Sunday, March 9, 2014. The pain was finally able to be managed well by Tuesday morning. Kevin was finally able to get some restful sleep for the first time in weeks. We are so thankful for that!
On Monday, he had a biopsy of the large mass that is hurting his back so they can determine the exact type of cancer we are dealing with.
Tuesday was spent hoping to hear some results from the biopsy but no word yet even now. A flood of visitors have been here to see Kevin. He is so grateful for each visit and each person who is willing to pray with him. His humor is still going strong. And he is keeping a positive attitude, which is such a blessing.
Since his pain from the large mass is so intense, the next step after at least 72 hours of surgery recovery will be starting chemotherapy right away. He will most likely get 5 days of chemo therapy before he will be released from the hospital. They anticipate that this first course of chemotherapy will shrink the mass enough to give him enough pain relief to allow him to manage the pain with medications that we can continue at home.

Kevin is scheduled for surgery today. Today they will be removing the testicle that contains the cancer.
