Chemotherapy – Round 2

Standard

Today is Monday, April 7, 2014.  Kevin just got re-admitted back to Community Memorial Hospital for 5 days of chemotherapy.   We are hopeful that this will be an uneventful stay.  Infuse the chemotherapy into the body and then get us back home after day 5.  Kevin was actually looking forward to today, getting this  next round of treatment started.  Ready for the chemical attack in partnership with Kevin’s will and determination to continue kicking cancer’s ass.

In the past few days…..even with diligent hygiene and care…..Kevin appears to have developed strep throat too.  Thankfully we did have antibiotics on hand in case of illness, so Kevin was able to start those on Saturday afternoon.  My aunt, Debbie, flew out from Maryland to help with the kids this week, so Saturday we put the kids and my aunt at Harbortown Point to try to keep any one else from getting sick!   Now they can all go home while we are at the hospital through the end of the week.

Our prayer requests for this week are for the side effects of chemotherapy to be minimal, for the kids to all be restored to full health status (strep throat and colds that are lingering!) and for there to be no new complications or surprises this week!

Matthew 11:28-29 Come to me, all who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn from me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls.

Lisa continuing to keep all of you in my prayers. I have two brothers struggling with cancer so I know how draining it can be on everyone. God is in control!

Isaiah 40:31 but those who hope in the LORD will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint.
